Nigerian Islamist Group Bombs Church, Killing 40
‘Boko Haram’, a highly de-centralized Islamic radical movement, has allegedly claimed responsibility for attacks on Christian churches in an Abuja suburb and elsewhere in the North and the Middle Belt over the Christmas weekend.
The attack, which occurred during mass at St. Theresa's, a Catholic Church in the Abuja suburb of Madalla, has been blamed on radical Islamic sect Boko Haram. At least 35 people were killed in the bombing on Sunday.
The Boko Haram Islamist sect has claimed responsibility for the Christmas Day bombings that killed about 40 people at a church in Madalla, Niger State.
