Top Farc Leader Killed in Colombia
Defence ministry sources told media that Alfonso Cano had been killed in an army operation in the mountains in the south-west of the country.
The top leader of Colombia's main rebel group, the bookish ideologue Alfonso Cano, was killed Friday in a military bombing in the country's southwest, authorities said.
Guillermo Leon Saenz on July 22, 1948, into middle-class Bogota family. Later takes alias "Alfonso Cano."
