New York Yankees defeat Los Angeles Angels, 10-6

Javier Vazquez has watched the Yankee lineup go flat on several occasions this season.

Wednesday, the starter came away owing a debt of gratitude to the Bombers' bats.

The Yankees staked Vazquez to an early six-run lead, one the righthander came perilously close to squandering. By the time rookie Colin Curtis belted his first career homer in a bizarre seventh, the Yankees were on their way to a 10-6 win that gave them a split of the two-game series with the Angels.
