James Cameron Criticizes BP for Refusing his Help and Resources in Dealing with Gulf Oil Spill

Blockbuster king James Cameron's offer to help BP stem the flow of oil from a leaking Gulf of Mexico well was spurned by the oil giant, even though the director says he knows his way around the ocean's depths.

"Over the last few weeks I've watched, as we all have, with growing horror and heartache, watching what's happening in the Gulf and thinking those morons don't know what they're doing," Cameron said at the All Things Digital technology conference.

James Cameron says he offered to use his experience with undersea filming to help BP, but company executives "graciously" turned him down, reports NBC Miami. At the All Things Digital conference, he let slip a not-so-flattering description of them: "Over the last few weeks I've watched, as we all have, with growing horror and heartache, watching what's happening in the Gulf and thinking those morons don't know what they're doing."
