Chicago Cubs defeat Texas Rangers, 5-4

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The beard is back.

And apparently it's not going away any time soon.

''I haven't had the energy to shave,'' Cubs manager Lou Piniella said. ''And I feel comfortable this way.''

Besides, he has had enough close shaves for a full season already, and it's not even June.

The Cubs got enough hitting early and late to come out on the right side of one Saturday and beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 in 10 innings at the Ballpark in Arlington.
