BP Releases Video Footage of Undersea Oil Spill Following White House and Media Pressure
BP said the video was released only today because the it had not received a request for the video until Monday.
In fact, ABC News and other news organizations made numerous requests over the past few weeks for the video. When ABC News reporters were allowed into the BP command center last week, the monitors showing the video had been turned off.
BP has yielded to pressure from the Coast Guard and the media and released a disheartening video of oil and natural gas spewing into the sea from its busted Deepwater Horizon well. The company says it is only releasing the video now because it wasn't asked to earlier, although ABC reports that it and other new organizations have made numerous requests over the 23 days since BP's oil rig blew up.
