Kansas City Royals defeat Minnesota Twins, 4-3
KANSAS CITY, MO. - The results of Nick Punto's MRI exam Saturday revealed nothing seriously wrong with his groin muscle.
But the Twins infielder is not in the clear.
"They are going to do some research on his hip and see if that could be causing a problem with his groin area," manager Ron Gardenhire said.
Punto hasn't played since April 15 because of soreness in the area. If there's something wrong with his hip flexor, Punto could be out for a while longer.
KANSAS CITY, MO. - The tying run was on second and the lead run was at the plate on Sunday. Royals closer Joakim Soria threw Jim Thome a changeup that tumbled down and away. Thome took a mighty cut and missed for the final out in a 4-3 loss to Kansas City.
