Cleveland Indians defeat Minnesota Twins, 8-1
Twins pitcher Scott Baker called it "one of the best worst outings I've had" Thursday, after giving up six runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings as Cleveland defeated the Twins 8-1 and avoided a sweep at Target Field.
"I felt like my stuff was good," Baker said. "They found a bunch of holes and got the big hit when they needed it."

During spring training, Twins teammates often quizzed Joe Mauer about Minnesota's April weather, hoping the St. Paul native could prepare them for the first homestand at Target Field.
"I told them it's unpredictable," Mauer said. "We've been pretty lucky. It's definitely been better than I expected."
With Thursday's 8-1 loss to Cleveland, the Twins finished 6-3 on their first homestand, but Mother Nature was 9-0.
