Nate Prosser, the Elk River native and former Colorado College defenseman who signed a one-year deal with his hometown Wild on March 18, came oh-so close to making his NHL debut Monday night.

Prosser, 23, originally expected to only practice the rest of the season and begin playing in Houston next season, nearly filled in for Marek Zidlicky, who is hampered by an arm injury but wound up playing against the Los Angeles Kings.
