Auburn Hills, Mich. — John Salmons' head was so crammed with new plays and terminology, he forgot most of it by the time the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons tipped off Friday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Bucks reserve forward Ersan Ilyasova played a huge role in the Bucks' victory, contributing a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. He was 6 for 6 from the field, including a 10-foot shot with 1:47 left that gave Milwaukee an 85-82 lead. "Ers was great," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said.
