Rod Blagojevich will not host ArtofTalk.tv

MEDIA ALERT
Former Governor and ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ competitor Rod Blagojevich not hosting "new" web talk show - cease and desist sent to show’s producers

NEW YORK, February 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Former governor Rod Blagojevich, who last year was impeached by the Illinois Senate and will be competing on the upcoming season of ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ will not be a guest host of artoftalk.tv’s “new program” ‘The Late Net Show.’

As it turns out, that “new” show will not be happening at all. And to top it off, it isn’t new – it has been around since 2007. If the show’s producers had done a simple search on any search engine they would have found that the title already existed.
“LateNet® with Ray Ellin” is a popular web-based talk show that has been running since 2007 -- and is trademarked. The show, which is featured and is available for viewing on DailyComedy.com and other websites (over 70 videos) recently aired on Asylum.com, a division of AOL.
Guests have included stars such as Hank Azaria, Leonard Nimoy, Chevy Chase, Fran Drescher, Ralph Macchio, Paul Shaffer, and many more.

“I was pretty surprised when I heard about this,” said Ray Ellin, the show’s host, creator, and exec producer. “Never mind them using the same name - I was surprised to hear the guy was even going to host a talk show. I figured he would be better off doing ‘Let’s Make A Deal.”

“LateNet®” is taped in New York City at AOL studios in front of a live audience and includes a monologue, celebrity interviews, comedy sketches, musical performances and comedians.

The “LateNet®" legal team sent a cease and desist to the former Governor and artoftalk.tv last week. ArtofTalk complied immediately, removing anything ‘Late Net® related from its site. Blagojevich was not a producer or creator of the program.

“The funny thing is, maybe one day Blagojevich can get to host LateNet®. Ray Ellin is so good, so natural, that soon he’ll be on network tv anyway. Then maybe Blagojevich could do the program,” said comedian Dan Naturman, who has appeared as a guest on Ellin’s show.
