Wisconsin Badgers defeat Purdue Boilermakers, 34-13

West Lafayette, Ind. — Through four Big Ten games, the Wisconsin Badgers had forced four turnovers.

On Saturday against Purdue, they matched their league total.

On an afternoon when the other parts of UW's game were a little shaky, those four turnovers - including a fumble recovery and an interception by cornerback Antonio Fenelus - that produced 24 points were the difference in the 34-13 victory at Ross-Ade Stadium.

So although poll voters might look at Wisconsin's 34-13 victory over Purdue on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium with a critical eye, the UW players and coaches had a different view.

One of those days when the Badgers, after consecutive knockdowns of a No. 1 and a No. 13 and too much time removed from the sensations, apparently had little in the emotional tank.

One of those days when the weather was ominous and Ross-Ade Stadium, as one would suppose when Purdue was limping home from two merciless beatings...

 

The offense just didn't look sharp early, which led to questions about whether the bye week stymied the unit's momentum. Quarterback Scott Tolzien didn't want to hear it.
