Cincinnati Reds defeat Milwaukee Brewers, 3-2
Cincinnati — Prince Fielder admitted Sunday, after the Brewers' final game of the season, that it took him time to come to grips with how opponents pitched him this season.
After slugging 46 homers and driving in 141 runs in a fantastic offensive season in 2009, Fielder began seeing fewer and fewer pitches to hit.
He struggled with that concept, became somewhat frustrated and for a time got himself out by swinging at pitches out of the strike zone.

Cincinnati — Ken Macha managed his last game for the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.
Sources familiar with the Brewers' plans confirmed that the team will not pick up the 2011 option on Macha's contract. The formal announcement will come Monday.
The Brewers lost, 3-2, to the Cincinnati Reds to finish a disappointing 77-85 and never were a factor in the National League Central Division race. The Brewers were 80-82 in 2009 despite being in first place as late as July 1.
