Madison — That the University of Wisconsin whipped Wofford, an overmatched Football Championship Subdivision opponent, was expected.
The final score - 44-14 - Saturday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium was irrelevant.
That the matchup drew an announced crowd of 78,253 fans revealed that at least some UW fans are willing to display their displeasure regarding the recent nonconference schedule by staying home. It also snapped UW's home sellout streak at 41 games.
