Chicago Cubs defeat New York Mets, 11-4

CHICAGO - David Wright rejoined the Mets Saturday, two weeks after getting beaned with a 93 mph fastball from San Francisco's Matt Cain.

The third baseman, who went through pregame drills with his teammates at Wrigley Field, described his role for the weekend as "head cheerleader." He's due to be activated from the disabled list as soon as he's eligible on Tuesday, when the Mets open a three-game series against the wild card-leading Rockies in Denver.

CHICAGO - Bobby Parnell's audition for a 2010 rotation spot continues to sputter. With his 109th and final pitch, Parnell served up a tiebreaking grand slam to Jake Fox and the Mets lost to the Cubs, 11-4, Saturday at Wrigley Field.
