Kurdish authorities identified the Americans as Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd and Joshua Fattal. They told him that Iranian border guards were surrounding them. They have not been heard from since.

An Iranian regional official says the two men and a woman are being questioned after they entered the country illegally.
