New York Mets defeat Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-6

If you're going to have 748 days between homers, you might as well make it count.

And that's exactly what Angel Pagan did Saturday night.

Pagan belted a tiebreaking grand slam off lefthander Clay Zavada in the eighth inning as the Mets snapped a two-game skid with a 9-6 victory over the Diamondbacks at Citi Field.

It was the Mets' second win courtesy of a tiebreaking grand slam on the home stand, as Fernando Tatis hit one on Monday off Rockies lefty Franklin Morales....

Angel Pagan basked in the glory of his first career grand slam Saturday night, celebrating the eighth-inning blast with a fist pump as he rounded first base and then taking just the second curtain call of his career.

Still smiling as he stood in front of his locker, the center fielder didn't forget to share the credit following the Mets' 9-6 victory over the Diamondbacks at Citi Field.
