Minnesota Twins defeat Los Angeles Angels, 10-1
ANAHEIM, CALIF. - Suddenly, righthander Anthony Swarzak, a rookie who still was in Class AA a year ago, has become the horse of the rotation.
Or at least the most reliable.
Swarzak was the stopper on Sunday as the Twins ended their four-game losing streak, giving up one run and four hits over 6 2/3 innings. He walked three and struck out four.
"I don't know if you can call me a stopper just yet,'' Swarzak said. "I've only had a couple of starts in the big leagues....
ANAHEIM, CALIF. - A few players got some things off their chests Saturday during a postgame meeting following a loss to the Angels. Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Mike Redmond were among the speakers.
"Any time you go through a tough stretch, everyone is kind of looking around and sometimes you have to look in the mirror and say, 'What can I do better? How can I be a better teammate?'" Morneau said. "Everyone gets negative at times. It's impossible not to in this game.
