Red Sox lose 2 - 1 to Florida Marlins in game 66
Kevin Youkilis got the Sox off to a rousing start, sending a ball into the Monster Seats, but that's all the damage the Boston bats would do off Ricky Nolasco in a game shortened by rain.
Jon Lester took the loss after surrendering a pair of homers in the second.
Marlins - 020 00 - 2 8 1
Red Sox - 100 00 - 1 1 0
Game called at 11:24 -- after a delay of 2:26. Sox lose.
Jon Lester fought his way through five soggy innings last night, but the Sox couldn't figure out Ricky Nolasco and managed just one hit and one run on Kevin Youkilis' first inning homer.
Lester gave up two ding dongs himself and that proved top be the difference when the game was called after five innings. Lester needed 115 pitches on the night and allowed 8 hits against a Marlins team that ususally strikes out a ton - especially against lefties (175, most in MLB).
