Red Sox beat Tampa Bay Rays in thirtieth game of season, 7 - 3

Rays - 101 100 000 - 3 9 0 Red Sox - 000 005 02x - 7 15 0 For the second straight night, the Red Sox came to bat in the bottom of the sixth inning, trailing in the game.

And just like Thursday -- when Boston set a new AL record by scoring 12 times before making an out -- the bats came alive, giving them a lead that carried them to victory.

We've got game one under our belt. This time let's actually win the series vs. TB. Tonight was sweet, being down 3-0, but scoring 7 in a row late. Shields was so pissed when he gave up the game-tying three-run dong to Thunder Bay, acting like it was all him and giving no credit to Jason. But come on, dude, you then give up a double and another dong to the next two hitters....

Brad Penny had another solid start (6.1 IP, 3 ER, 8 H, 2 BB, 2 K) and ding dongs from Jason Bay (who else!?) and JD Drew gave the Sox a 5-4 lead in the 6th.
