New York Mets defeat Washington Nationals, 7-4

Johan Santana calls it crazy.

The Mets' lefthander struggled through what he calls the strangest game of his career to earn the win as the Mets completed a sweep of the Nationals with a 7-4 win at Citi Field Wednesday night.

"It was the weirdest game ever. I was just trying to make my pitches," Santana said. "I don't think I ever had that before, 11 strikeouts and six walks. Really weird. We were just fortunate enough to win this game."

The Mets swiped a feature from old Tiger Stadium, an overhang for the upper deck in right field, and incorporated it as a Caddyshack-like quirk at Citi Field. It became the cause for the latest in a flurry of disputed home runs involving the Mets.
