Despite getting two opportunities in extra innings, Nick Markakis saw his hitting streak end one game short of his setting a career high. The Orioles' right fielder had at least one hit in 17 straight games before going 0-for-4 with two walks and two runs scored Saturday. It's just the third time this season Markakis has been held hitless, though the two walks extended his streak of reaching base to 33 games, the longest active streak in the major leagues.
