Minnesota Twins defeat Seattle Mariners, 6-5

Carlos Silva hated to leave the Twins after the 2007 season, but they offered the righthander a contract worth $18 million over three years, and the Seattle Mariners offered him $48 million over four.

"As soon as I was a free agent, I put the Twins as my favorite all the way," Silva said Tuesday. "But they offered me just one contract, and it was a big, big, big difference."
