Chicago White Sox defeat Baltimore Orioles, 8-2

Chicago White Sox left-hander John Danks entered Wednesday night's game at Camden Yards with some of the best early-season numbers in the majors.

He also had a brief history of not pitching well against the Orioles.

GETTING THROUGH

It was clear from the outset that Orioles No. 1 starter Jeremy Guthrie didn't have his best stuff. He allowed a run on two hits and a walk and threw 24 pitches in the first inning. The second inning brought similar struggles, though the right-hander eventually settled down enough to get into the seventh inning. He allowed five earned runs, eight hits and three walks in six-plus innings.
