Boston Celtics defeat New Jersey Nets, 115-111

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - After two practices and a morning shootaround dedicated to defending, the Celtics spent much of last night watching shots from the Nets hit their target.

But though the Celtics failed to follow their plans, they were resourceful enough to outscore New Jersey, 115-111, shooting 61.2 percent from the field and winning the rebounding battle, 39-26.
