Minnesota Timberwolves defeat New Jersey Nets, 103-99

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Somebody had to win Wednesday night in New Jersey's snowy swamps because, well, NBA rules absolutely stipulate it.

The Timberwolves finally did, prevailing 103-99 over the Nets in a meeting between two teams that had won only seven times between them in the season's opening 57 days.
