Illinois Fighting Illini defeat Minnesota Golden Gophers, 35-32

It was a little more than a year ago that the Gophers were in Illinois, celebrating becoming a bowl-eligible team.

We came out and we didn't perform," Weber said. "We set the bar high in the Michigan State game and we didn't live up to it today. But we kept on fighting. We gave ourselves a shot.

As the first half ended Saturday with Illinois leading by 21 points, there were boos aimed at the Gophers in TCF Bank Stadium.
