New York Mets defeat Houston Astros, 5-1

Looking to salvage some dignity in the final weekend of an awful season, the Mets beat the Astros, 5-1, Saturday behind a brief but solid start by Pat Misch at soggy Citi Field.

Misch (3-4), coming off an eight-hit shutout in his previous start, allowed five hits and one run in five innings. He would have pitched longer, but the game was interrupted by a two-hour, 20-minute rain delay at the end of the fifth.
