New Jersey Devils defeat New York Rangers, 4-2

John Tortorella was waiting to see how the Rangers would bounce back from their first bad loss of the season.

Twenty minutes into Thursday night's game, he was wondering how they would bounce back from an awful first period.

The answer? Pretty darn good, actually, except that it was too darn late to do enough good things in a 4-2 loss at the Garden to a characteristically solid Devils team, resulting in back-to-back defeats for the first time this season.
