Boston Celtics defeat Detroit Pistons, 86-78

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Blowouts have marked the Celtics' 10-game winning streak.

But they responded to a wake-up call in taking an 86-78 victory over the Detroit Pistons last night.

The game was played at postseason pace, each possession contested, the tension building before center Kendrick Perkins was ejected following a flagrant foul against Jason Maxiell with 5:56 remaining.
