New York Mets defeat Philadelphia Phillies, 6-3

The Phillies were threatening to sweep the Mets and make this feel eerily like September 2007, when Jerry Manuel was asked between games of Sunday's doubleheader what type of pressure Johan Santana would face as he took the mound Sunday night.

Candid as ever, Manuel came about as close to making a public plea for Santana to save the season as you'll ever hear.

"That's why we have a Johan," Manuel said. "That's why you have an ace."
