Miley Cyrus Hosts The Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards is an awards show presented annually by FOX. The program honors the year's biggest achievements in music, movies, sports, television, fashion and more, as voted on by teens aged 13–19.

The program usually features a high number of celebrities and musical performers. The winners are awarded with authentic full size surfboards -- literally the biggest award in entertainment -- designed with a fresh summertime theme every year. The ceremony has also created spin-off teen awards on YouTube.

Teen Choice was started in 1999. The 2009 awards will be held on Sunday, August 9 in Los Angeles, CA and will air on Monday, August 10.

She hosted the 2008 CMT Music Awards with her father in April. In 2008, Cyrus hosted the Teen Choice Awards. On September 5 2008, Cyrus along with many female singers performs a single for the anti-cancer campaign Stand Up to Cancer, titled "Just Stand Up!", was performed live during the one-hour U.S. On September 14, 2008, Cyrus participated in other philanthropy action — along with other performers, performed at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California for the City of Hope Benefit Concert that will help raise for cancer research and training programs.
