MINNEAPOLIS -- Orioles rookie right-hander Radhames Liz knew he would be nervous in the first inning of his initial 2008 big league start.

He said he's like that when he's pitching at a new level, no matter where it is.

Kevin Millar's second-inning homer against Minnesota's Kevin Slowey didn't just put the Orioles up 1-0, it also gave Millar a share of the team's home run lead. It was his ninth homer, tying Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff. Melvin Mora inched closer to the lead with a homer in the sixth inning, his eighth of the season.
