Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival 2008
Belmont and Sheffield has long been Lakeview 's epicenter for all that 's "happening" in Chicago among adults 18-34.
Some of Chicago's most popular nightclubs, including Sheffield's Wine and Beer Garden, Spin, Berlin, Leona's and Trader Todd's, set the tone and ambiance and lend this area its reputation for a cutting edge musical scene.
The Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival is a reflection of the lifestyle of this area. Boasting some of the hottest national, regional and local musical entertainment in Chicago, this festival also features fine arts, crafts and visual displays of new fashions. This festival is a true experience of all that 's new and cutting edge in Chicago.
The event beneficiary is the Central Lakeview Merchants Association (CLMA) - a group of businesses dedicated to improving the community, working with neighbors and providing customers and clients with the very best!
Belmont-Sheffield Music Fest
Let summer begin! One of Chicago's most eclectic intersections kicks off the start of the outdoor festival season at the 24th annual Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival. The fest will be held in the shadows of the Belmont El stop on Sheffield between Belmont (3200 N) and School Street (3300 N). Proceeds benefit Central Lake View Merchants Association (CLMA), an institutional member and supporter of Lake View Citizens' Council.
Among the equally eclectic music headliners will be Long Island rockers Nine Days, Indiana alt rockers The Why Store, and Chicago's own Dot Dot Dot who gained legions of fans worldwide when they competed in Fox television's "The Next Great American Band" in 2007. In addition, the festival features a diverse mix of arts, crafts and food vendors.
Also set to perform are local rock faves Underwater People; Chicago-based reggae artist Kofi, who just released his debut album; British Columbia's School of Rock; Los Angeles rockers Sugar Wall; and Dave Matthews tribute band the Trippin' Billies.
