Baltimore Orioles defeat Tampa Bay Rays, 8-4

Breaking out With the game tied at 4, the Orioles jumped the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' bullpen for four runs and five hits in the eighth.

Miguel Tejada, Nick Markakis, Melvin Mora and Aubrey Huff singled off reliever Dan Wheeler. Mora's hit gave the Orioles a 5-4 lead. Scott Dohmann entered the game and surrendered Ramon Hernandez's three-run double. Markakis finished with four hits. Huff had three, including his seventh homer against his former team this season.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A small group of Orioles took early batting practice yesterday and participated in fielding drills more than four hours before last night's game. The roster expanded by four players, all of them called up from the minors. The routine, and the clubhouse, no longer seemed quite as familiar.

Any break from the norm is encouraged when a team keeps losing. In this case, change isn't just good, it's almost a necessity.
