US Embassy Bombing in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
The United States Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania was attacked by Islamic terrorists on August 8, 1998 at about the same time as the embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.
A truck filled with explosives was parked outside the compound and detonated. Eleven people were killed and 86 were wounded, none of them Americans. Bin Laden claimed responsibility for the bombings.
