The semi-finals were a hard fought back and forth series against St. Louis, with Detroit coming out four to two in the best of seven series.

The Wings moved on to defeat Dallas four to two in a exciting seven game series, with a hard fought win by Dallas in overtime during the fifth game.

After fighting it's way to the finals Detroit cruised to a four to zero victory in the final best of seven series against Washington. The final game was four to one, Detroit.
