Ramzi Yousef's attack on World Trade Center

Yes, I am a terrorist, and proud of it as long as it is against the US government ”

— Ramzi Yousef

On February 26, 1993 Ramzi Yousef detonated a car bomb in the parking garage of Tower One at the World Trade Center in New York City. His intention was for Tower One to fall into Tower Two and to kill tens of thousands of Americans.
Yousef loaded a Ryder van with explosives and it was driven to the Tower One. The explosion killed six people and wounded over a thousand more but did not bring down the building. After the bombing, Yousef fled the United States to Iraq.
