1989 International Special Olympics Winter Games
1-8 April 1989 The Fourth International Special Olympics Winter Games are held in Reno, Nevada, and Lake Tahoe, California. More than 1,000 athletes from 18 countries participate.
The 1989 International Winter Special Olympics Games (IWSOG) involved competition in the following sports: alpine (downhill) skiing, nordic (cross-country) skiing, figure skating, speed skating, and floor hockey. The rules for these sports are based on the International Sports Federations and National Governing Body rules, except when they are in conflict with the Official Special Olympics Sports rules.
