Elena Kagan Earns a Masters of Philosophy from Oxford University’s Worcester College

At Princeton, Kagan was awarded the Daniel M. Sachs Memorial Scholarship — a top honor — which took her to Great Britain where she eventually earned a M.Phil degree from Worcester College, Oxford in 1983.

In her senior year Kagan won Princeton's Daniel M. Sachs scholarship (similar to the Rhodes scholarship) and attended Oxford University's Worcester College for two years, where she was coxswain for a women's crew team.

She received Princeton's Daniel M. Sachs Class of 1960 Graduating Scholarship, one of the highest general awards conferred by the university, which enabled her to study at Worcester College, Oxford University. She earned a master of philosophy at Oxford in 1983
