Alice Cooper releases School's Out
School's Out is the fifth studio album by Alice Cooper, released in 1972.
The album's title track has remained a staple song in Alice Cooper's live setlist and receives regular airplay on many "Classic Rock" radio stations.
The original album cover (designed by Craig Braun) had the sleeve opening in the manner of an old school desk. The vinyl record inside was wrapped in a pair of girl's panties. This original issue was recalled because the panties were not flame-retardant. The album was remastered in 2009 for Audio Fidelity by Steve "Daddy Tonemeister" Hoffman in HDCD.
School's Out reached #2 on the U.S. Billboard album chart and #1 on the Canadian RPM 100 Top Albums Chart, holding the top position for four weeks. The single "School's Out" reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, #3 on the Canadian RPM Top Singles Chart and went all the way to #1 in the U.K.
