Doug Ford wins the 21st Masters Tournament

Doug Ford first played The Masters in 1952, and he last played it in 2001.

That's 49 times playing The Masters, which was the record for most appearances until Arnold Palmer hit 50 in 2004 (and Gary Player later broker Palmer's record).

And at the 1957 Masters, Doug Ford won. He did it by coming from three strokes behind leader Sam Snead at the start of the final round, shooting 66 to Snead's 72, to win by three. It was the second major of Ford's career; he won 19 PGA Tour events total, including the 1955 PGA Championship.

Starting Sunday three strokes behind Sam Snead, Doug Ford won the Masters title by three. During the final round Ford holed out from the bunker for birdie at No. 18. That year instituted the cut to low 40 scores plus ties.
