World Health Organization (WHO) Founded

When the United Nations was formed in 1945, there was a significant need for organizations to be created that would take charge globally of matters such as health, trade, and labor.

As a result, WHO was founded, with its constitution coming into force on April 7, 1948 – a date now celebrated every year as World Health Day. Within the UN, WHO is categorized as one of the specialized agencies, and WHO itself has an office located within the UN headquarters. This demonstrates the interlinked nature of global health with global peace.
