Frank McCourt Born

Francis "Frank" McCourt (19 August 1930 - 19 July 2009) was an Irish-American teacher and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, best known as the author of Angela’s Ashes.

His brother Malachy McCourt is also an autobiographical writer. Together they created the stage play A Couple of Blaguards, a two-man show about their lives and experiences.

Angela’s Ashes is a memoir by Irish-American author Frank McCourt, and tells the story of his childhood in Brooklyn and Ireland. It was published in 1996 and won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography.
