    I remember when the space shuttle disaster occurred. I was a sophomore at Sam Houston State University. My roommate and I were in the lobby of our dorm Belvin Buchanan. We were both in shock as we watched this tragedy enfold.
    I had the same reaction when 9/11 occurred. Again I was a student at SHSU and I had just entered the LSC building. I took a moment to look at the television screen and saw the first plane hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
