Nine Crushed to Death by Crowd at Roskilde Festival

This event has not been added to any topics.

A stampede at a music festival is not a new thing - in 2000, nine people were killed during Pearl Jam's set at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The official cause was ruled as an accident set off by huge numbers of fans rushing the stage. The incident saw dramatic changes to safety procedures surrounding similar events - Glastonbury 2001 was even cancelled in order for organisers to have enough time to revamp preventative measures for the next instalment.
