Michael Ryder’s day off started with 3:54 left in the second period, moments after he dropped the Islanders’ Blake Comeau with a hit against the rear boards in Boston’s end.
“I kind of let up,’’ said Ryder, who was tossed from yesterday’s game for what was deemed a hit from behind on the big Islander winger. “I was just trying to hit him, and I don’t know, maybe he turned the wrong way. I hope he is OK.’’
