The Mets had another opportunity to show Johan Santana the kind of love they had for their other starters during their seven-game win streak when he took the mound for the first game of a three-game series against Atlanta at Citi Field Monday night. They were facing Derek Lowe - the pitcher the Mets didn't get during the offseason to supplant Oliver Perez.
Again, the Mets batters turned into statues and hung Santana out to dry in an 8-3 loss that brought their feel-good...
