Lately Brian Bruney has been making more news with his mouth than with his arm. Just ask the Mets' Frankie Rodriguez.

Now that Bruney has been activated after a second stint on the disabled list with a strained right elbow flexor, the Yankees hope their eighth-inning man will make news as the bullpen bridge to Mariano Rivera.

"I was joking around with CC (Sabathia) before the game and I said, 'Hey, just leave me a hitter, man,'" Bruney said.
