KANSAS CITY, MO. — Twins infielder Nick Punto ended up on a one-day road trip.
Punto was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday because of a strained right groin muscle that just won't get better. He will return to the Twin Cities for an MRI exam Saturday to make sure it's not something more serious.
"It will be nice to rule everything out," he said.
The move is retroactive to April 16, so he can be activated May 1.
